Creating the Perfect Home

Angela Rose, of Angela Rose Home Decor, does it all when it comes to home styling. She visualizes, designs, and literally builds everything to create the perfect abode for her and her family. Now the DIY queen is focused on sharing with others exactly how she does it.

A simple scroll through Angela Rose’s expertly curated Instagram feed or website, it is hard to not be envious. Her home looks like it was plucked right out of an architectural dream editorial. From her green room accent wall to the world’s most chic bunk beds it is easy to believe that she enlisted the expertise of a seasoned interior design firm and custom home renovation expert - and simply settled their hefty, well deserved tickets.

However, Rose’s picture-perfect, covet-worthy home was completely customized by no one other than her. From inspiration to execution, Rose is making her dream home a reality and she devotes the remainder of her time to teaching others how to do the same. Like many of us, her dream home was once a bunch of pins floating around her inspiration boards, but now it is her reality. “The desire for designer looks started with me making my own furniture and now that I have a home, it has translated to the entire home design process,” shared Rose.

The self proclaimed fearless DIYer and Doer has successfully self taught herself the techniques and tools she needed to create the pieces she wanted, for a fraction of the price. “I have always loved beautiful things,” began Rose, “ but I didn’t have the budget for them. Fifteen years ago, I decided I was tired of my college furniture and wanted nicer things. So I decided to build my own.” After creating her first headboard she was hooked for life.

There is a nexus that exists between fashion and interior design, even if Rose typically will be found in sporting athleisure. Fashion and interior design share the talents of merging the abilities to envision and creatively pull together different ideas to achieve an overall look. For Rose, utility is the common theme that links her work to her personal style. Her home, while beautiful, is first and foremost a place for her family to commune. Her personal style, while cool, primarily serves to allow her to create. “I can’t live without my nice comfortable clothes,” Rose laughed as she points out her unofficial DIY uniform, “like my crop muscle tank and workout pants! I also love wearing hats - they hide all the sawdust.”

As for the future, Rose has many ideas. She would love to eventually sell her products, but for the moment will be continuing to develop those ideas. That is the thing about Angela Rose, she is not afraid to try and fail. For her, it is a part of the creative process and is what ultimately leads to the achievement of her amazing feats; and that is the advice she would like to pass on to everyone interested in transforming their own spaces. “Don’t be afraid,” begins the home-maker. “You will mess up. It’s okay. Then you’ll figure it out and be able to look back and say — ‘I did that. I am awesome!’ It doesn’t take a lot to bring joy into your home. Take the first step and stop waiting around!”
