From Garden to Table: Your V-Day Guide to Date Night Floralscapes

Roses are red, violets are blue, Valentine’s Day is coming, but wait, what flowers will you do? There are two key ingredients when it comes to Valentine’s day, and that is chocolate and flowers. Chocolate is easy, but how do you go about pairing all the different florals to your date night needs? We have brought back floral connoisseur Kelsea Olivia, founder of East Olivia, to divulge her perfect pairings to set the scene for any V-day rendezvous!

“We’re back baby! And when it comes to Valentine’s Day, a return to red is always welcome! It’s classic for a reason as it’s the perfect tone for fresh and Forever Flowers. I love seeing the Nina Rose (reflexed of course and petals flipped upside down) featured in fresh arrangements and for Forever Florals — the Olivia Deluxe — which features the perfect mix of pink and red are my go to’s.” Now let’s talk specific floralscapes.

Candle lit dinner for 2, with a bottle of red wine:

“Keep it classic and simple with roses or tulips. Single stem variety groupings — meaning only one type of flower for the entire look. Use a few scattered vases on the table and mix in some candles. So simple anyone can do it.”

Outdoor picnic, rosé and charcuterie:

“Go with elevated wild flower vibes — cosmos, chamomile, nigella and wispy green grasses — wrap them in brown paper for the cutest addition to your picnic set up.”

Cozy, casual heart-shaped pizza and Netflix:

“Pairs perfectly with any East Olivia Forever Floral arrangement. This is the most chill arrangement for the most chill couple. No watering required, just good vibes.”

Champagne and desserts:

We’re thinking chocolate covered strawberries with a bottle of bubbly. “Trail some rose petals down the table, so simple but goes a long way and is so romantic!”

Galentine’s get together:

“When it comes to gal’s time, we love celebrating all things pink. I recommend garden roses, ranunculus and a classic carnation all in shades of pink, paired with a pink vase of course! I love a monochromatic color story — grab a bottle of rosé to tie the whole vibe together!”

Meet your matcha, an at home coffee date:

“I recommend the Haley in any size, but especially the Haley Deluxe, the cream colored roses will pair perfectly with your coffee or match.”

The flowers are set, the date is planned, but here’s some bonus advice to make sure you seal the deal! The time old rivalry, chocolates or flowers, flowers or chocolates… “I am a maximalist at heart so I say — why not choose both? Of course my first and forever love will always be flowers because nothing expresses love and adoration quite like sharing the greatest gift earth has to offer — nature. Though I will say, if I am satisfying my sweet tooth, it is absolutely going to be with a Tony’s Chocolonely every time.”
