How to Host a Party Under $100

Hosting a party seems like the last thing you want to do — everyone at your house, the pressures of entertaining, and did we mention the cleanup? But providing the setting for some of you, and your guests’, most wonderful memories, may make it all just worth it. However, that doesn’t mean it has to break the bank or your normally untouched, polished dining area. So how do we make it special and budget friendly? After hosting our annual friendsgiving, here are a few tricks we picked up along the way.

Make a call to the butcher.

[Just kidding.] We are actually just going to take one of their best kept secrets and utilize it for the most satisfying tablescape runner. Lining down the center of your dining table, you now have an aesthetically appropriate table base, and a no clean up “place mat” to protect that new kitchen table you got for visual purposes only.

You can sit here.

Assigned place settings is an easy way to keep your gathering no fuss, with everyone knowing where they will sit. But actual name cards or those hand crafted ornaments can be a little time consuming and money you don’t want to spend. So utilize that butcher paper even more and line each plate with the ever-underrated gold accent marker, to mark the seat for each guest. It’s a personalized note that is sure to impress.

Let’s get one thing clear.

We are saps for all things clear dining ware. From your water and wine glasses to even your main dining plate, the clear accents offer a blank slate that can literally pair with any tablescape design. And let’s face it, less is more (especially for your wallet).

Get the guests involved.

That’s right, potluck style! Nothing adds spontaneity and personal touches like considerate dishes curated by each guest. It adds an authentic touch and a variety to your table spread. Make do with what you have and remember, you do not have to sweat perfection.

Let the nostalgia lead the way.

Nothing sets a scene like an aroma that fills the room with nostalgia, positive vibes and a hint of cinnamon. With that extra stove space, leave a pot of simmering spices and holiday staples to not only enhance the room, but that is as beautiful to the eye as it is to the nose. It’s the perfect chance to get creative with your fifth sense.  Here’s a list of our latest steeping ingredients:

— 3 cinnamon sticks

— cranberries

— dehydrated orange slices

— rosemary

Parties are meant to be fun, relaxed and memorable, and where better to accomplish that than in the comfort of your own home. No need to be afraid to play host with these few no fuss hacks and just wait for the rave reviews to come in!
