The Caker Serves up Thanksgiving Dessert

Tis the season, or shall we say tis the season of seasonings. That’s right, the time of year is upon us to gather together with our loved ones to give thanks and count our blessings, all while being surrounded by a well crafted table of delicious (mostly home-made) food. Of course with this day fast approaching begs the question of, “what are you bringing to the table”? There are always the crowd pleasers — pumpkin pie, pecan tarts, apple pie — but this year we are serving the old with a little something new. We are giving thanks to The Caker for sharing THE 3 desserts we will be bringing to our Thanksgiving festivities and the spices that will stimulate your 5th sense, filling the air with gratitude and celebration.

“I think certain spices have the power to evoke emotions of nostalgia and celebration. Warming cinnamon, spicy ginger and aromatic nutmeg all taste like gratitude to me because they are reminiscent of times spent with loved ones. I just created a recipe for brown butter, pumpkin and sage cakes (a take on my favorite ravioli in sweet form), which I think are perfect for this time of year. Serve them with cinnamon spiked whipped cream and you’ll be giving thanks all over the show.”
